OUR PROCESS

It all starts with an idea, conceptualised digitally. An exploratory process to pose and proportion the vision. Dependent on the complexity of the design, this can take time and patience.

From here, the digital drawings are 'nested' and exported to a format read by a laser cutting machine. This is where the bend angles are introduced and documented.

I consider the most appropriate material influenced by its final application, and it's laser time. This is where all the constituent parts come together for the first time and the creation begins to come to life. Each part must be carefully bent to the specified angles, ensuring a neat fit when tack welding together.

TIG welding is my method of choice, requiring two passes. The first to tack weld the whole sculpture together, the second to seal in the welds.

Finally comes the delicate task of removing the weld beads to create a clean, seamless edge before preparing the surfaces for finish as desired by the customer.
